Considering treatment

If you have had non-surgical treatments before you will know how successful the treatments can be and probably have specific requirements.

If you have never had these treatments before then you may wonder why even consider non-surgical treatments? We asked David Moxon, psychologist, broadcaster and writer, for his independent thoughts on this:

'It's been known for thousands of years that the way we look, can affect other peoples' perceptions of us. Pythagoras, the ancient Greek mathematician, was renowned for making judgements about his students' intelligence based on their physical appearance. Even Hippocrates, the founding father of modern medicine, advocated the idea that you could tell what was wrong with a patient internally, by assessing their outward looks.

Furthermore psychologists have found that our physical looks can have a direct affect on our self-esteem. If we feel good about our looks this can increase our confidence and improve our overall mental health. Conversely, if there are things we are not happy with in terms of our appearance, this can have a negative impact on our well-being.

Most of us feel there are things we would like to change about our appearance, however we don't always have to undergo major surgery to achieve them. Even subtle improvements to our looks can work wonders for our confidence.

So, if we look young and vibrant we are half way to feeling young and vibrant.'
